Pn. Kartina was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Etiqa Life Insurance Berhad and the member of the Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad (MAHB) Risk Management Committee (RMC) on 16 June 2026.

Pn. Kartina is a Chartered Actuary (Fellow) of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Bayes Business School, London. She is a recipient of the IFoA President’s Award. Pn. Kartina was a finalist in several categories of the ‘Women in Insurance’ Awards, including ‘Insurance Woman of the Year’ and ‘Risk Professional of the Year’, as well as Insurance Post’s ‘Actuary of the Year’ award.

She has over 25 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry, covering actuarial practice, risk management, financial regulation and advisory. Until recently, she was the President of the IFoA, one of the biggest actuarial membership organisations in the world.

She previously served as Global Head of Risk & Regulation Practice and Senior Director (Partner) at Willis Towers Watson, and prior to that, as Director in the Insurance Risk and Regulation practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Her earlier roles include senior management in insurance supervision at the Bank of England, where she was involved in the market implementation of Solvency II, as well as provided oversight of capital, governance and risk management of insurers. Pn. Kartina was the Chief Risk Officer at The Hartford, a Lloyd’s of London Managing Agency, where she was responsible for its enterprise risk management. She also held senior consulting roles at Marsh Risk Consulting.

Pn. Kartina currently sits on the Board of Markerstudy Distribution.
